What is one benefit of using a Regen 1x5 TAP?
This TAP is ideal for a Company with multiple out-of-band tools deployed in the IT network and there is zero need for advanced capabilities like filtering and aggregation that would be provided by a Network Packet Broker. A Regen 1x5 TAP is a sound investment with a quick ROI.
What’s a common use case for a Regen 1x5 TAP?
A typical set-up is an IT network with a single 10G Fiber link that is sending the traffic to both a SIEM and an IDS. Installing a Regen 1x5 TAP can provide copies of packets to both the SIEM and IDS, as well as three (3) additional tools in the future as the network expands and investment increases.
How is this TAP managed?
This is a plug ‘n play TAP and requires no management. User Guides are available to help you get up and running in a few short steps. Plug-in cables and follow the LED lights on the front panel of the TAP to confirm activity.
What versions are available?
There are two (2) versions available: Failsafe and Passive. The Failsafe version uses an Optical Switch to regenerate the light, and the Passive uses an Optical Splitter to regenerate the light. Reference the Datasheet for part numbers for Singlemode and Multi-mode Fiber products.
How many power supplies are required?
Two (2) power supplies are required for each chassis ensuring power redundancy. Please see the Data Sheet for part #s.
