Job Title: Junior Federal Sales Representative


Reports to:
Director of Federal Operations

Department: Sales

Location: Working remotely out of the Washington, D.C. area. Must be based out of the territory.

Are you passionate about developing and implementing sales strategies to grow revenue in your federal territory? Are you ready for a new career opportunity in a fast-paced and hard-working culture? 

Garland Technology, the industry leader in delivering network products and solutions for enterprise, service providers and government agencies worldwide is seeking an experienced self-motivated and talented Junior Federal Sales Representative to join our fast-growing team.  

As a valued member of our organization, you'll play a key role in generating leads and meeting sales goals. Duties will include sales presentations, product demonstrations, as well as negotiating contracts with potential clients. In order to be successful in this role you will need to have a deep understanding of the sales process and high quality interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned Federal territory within North America
  • Generating leads and meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients
  • Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports
  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  • Maintaining client records
  • Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability
  • Travel up to 2 weeks per month. Passport required.

Skill Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years working in outside or inside sales. Prior experience with network, product, and applications is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the federal acquisition process.
  • Must already live in the assigned territory (no relocations or commuting from outside of the territory)
  • Commitment to above and beyond customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships between customers and suppliers
  • Experience in developing a sales operational plan with a multi-year outlook.
  • Strong and persistent drive, with effective negotiating skills and motivated through sales achievement.
  • Quick learner with enthusiasm to gain knowledge of new technology.
  • Team player with the ability to work comfortably in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have basic computer networking knowledge.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
