Network Brew

GarlandBeerTAP-ChrisB-LR.pngIf you are a beer enthusiast, like us here at Garland, you are by definition a "cerevisaphile." Coming in behind tea, beer is the second most popular beverage in the world, so we're not alone.

How Beer Saved the World

Beer has a long history of inovation and bringing together people. Many anthropologists and archaeologists now believe that it was a taste for beer, not bread, that led to people farming barley in around 9000BC, leading to the world's first ever civilization - Mesopotamia and a cascade of inventions (the plough, the wheel, irrigation, mathematics and even writing), all of these world-changing innovations were dreamed up to help with the production and distribution of beer. Egypt used beer as currency, a dietary staple and even an important medicine. And yes, without beer, they say we wouldn't have the pyramids.

Even in more recent times, beer had a hand in some of history's most remarkable breakthroughs, from the discovery of germ theory and modern medicine, to the invention of refrigeration, the birth of the factory and the end of child labour. Beer's life-saving historical properties include saving people from giardia and worse, because the water was contaminated and beer was safer to drink, ultimately saving humanity.

Our love tapping a beer, is equal to our passion of educating the networking community on the benefits of network TAPs.

Let's Play!

While we keep hearing about networks migrating to 40G or 100G, it's important to note that many networks still consist of 1 Gigabit copper. Of course, these networks still require reliable traffic
